Charcoal: Value, Contrast and Texture

Description

Students will experiment with vine charcoal and blending tools, learn various drawing techniques, and employ art principles such as value, contrast, texture, and pattern in this one-day workshop. Through a series of still life, landscape and figure exercises, students will practice using this very versatile medium to create successful works of art. Materials will be provided with the supply fee. In addition, students should bring a sketchbook and a sack lunch.
