Description
Blair Crimmins and The Hookers, the dynamic musical ensemble rooted in Ragtime and 1920’s style Dixieland Jazz, are set to captivate audiences at The Peacock Performing Arts Center on January 28th at 7:30 PM. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Blair Crimmins embarked on his music career with a vision to introduce the timeless charm of Ragtime and Dixieland Jazz to contemporary audiences. Through performances in rock clubs across the Southeast, he crafted a sound that seamlessly blends modern elements with deep historical roots.
Crimmins, a multi-instrumentalist proficient in guitar, banjo, and piano, has not only toured extensively in the U.S but also left an indelible mark in Italy. Opening for esteemed acts like Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Old Crow Medicine Show, he has garnered acclaim for his ability to infuse classic New Orleans style with his unique musical expression.
His debut release, "The Musical Stylings Of," soared to success on WRAS Atlanta, becoming the most requested band on the air. Crimmins's musical diversity was showcased in 2012 when he composed the full score for the independent short film "Old Man Cabbage." In 2013, he was recognized as the critics' pick for Best Songwriter in Creative Loafing’s Best of ATL issue.
Over the years, Crimmins has continued to evolve, releasing albums such as "Sing-a-longs!" and "You Gotta Sell Something" (2017). His versatility is evident in a children’s album, "All Aboard" (2019), and his latest venture, "Okay Boom!" (2021), featuring swinging covers of iconic artists from Louis Armstrong to David Bowie.
Don't miss the chance to experience the infectious energy and musical prowess of Blair Crimmins and The Hookers live at The Peacock Performing Arts Center—a night that promises to transport you to the vibrant era of Ragtime and Dixieland Jazz, expertly reimagined for today's audience.
