Veteran's Meet and Greet

On September 11, 2019, NCWorks Career Center will be hosting a “Veteran’s Meet and Greet” from 10:00am-2:00pm. All Veteran’s in the tri-state area are invited to attend. We will be introducing our new Veterans Employment Specialist: Leslynn Jones. She currently covers seven counties in the Western North Carolina region and is at the NCWorks Career Center, in Murphy, each Wednesday. Our office is located at: 800 W US Hwy 64, Murphy, NC 28906, beside Waffle King, and we serve Cherokee, Clay, and Graham Counties. This event will serve to not only to introduce Leslynn to our Veteran community, but also to represent local Veteran Resources within our community. Ruth Limon (NCDVA), George Heilner (TNDVA), Sarah Dalacruz (NCServes), AJ Worst (VFW), Larry Limon (American Legion), Clay County Veteran’s Services, Graham County Veteran’s Services, Combat Vets, US Vet Thrift Store, and the Veterans Clinic from Blairsville, GA, are listed among the many resources that will be represented at the local event. Refreshments will be served and sponsors include: Chick-fil-A Blairsville, Lowes Murphy, and Walmart Murphy. Transit agencies from Cherokee County (828)837-1789, Clay County (828)389-0644, and Graham County (828)479-4129 will provide free transportation to and from the event for any Veteran that wishes to attend, please call your local transit office prior to September 06, 2019 to arrange for this service.
