A key component to a healthy river or lake is a healthy bank. Planting native plants and trees helps maintain the integrity of the streambank or shoreline and keeps our waterways beautiful. To support this important management strategy, HRWC is holding a Native Tree and Shrub Sale this fall. Choose from over 25 species of native trees and shrubs, ranging from large shade trees, native ornamentals, pollinator species, and those particularly beneficial to wildlife. All plants are quality nursery stock, ranging in size from one gallon to large three gallon potted trees. Orders are being accepted now through October 31. You must pay for the order at the time you submit it to secure your species and size of choice. Then pick up your order from the HRWC parking lot on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00-4:00. Stop by the HRWC office at 90 Tennessee Street, Murphy or email Raleigh Keagan for a list of available species, descriptions and an order form: admin@hrwc.net.
