Four great performers on mountain and hammered dulcimers (and other instruments!):
Anne Lough has served as artist-in-schools for the North Carolina, Kentucky and Virginia Arts Councils and is a regular instructor at the Folk School. She is in constant demand as an instructor and performer at hammered dulcimer and mountain dulcimer events nationwide
Lorinda is an adjudicated member of the Kentucky Arts Council's Performing Arts Directory and is actively involved with Arts in Healing, a program of The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. With a childhood background in piano and oboe, she holds degrees in music education and music therapy. Lorinda teaches and performs across the U.S. on the Irish harp and mountain dulcimer. She has produced numerous CD recordings and has instructional material published by Mel Bay Publications and Lo's Notes Publications.
Guy studied jazz performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He plays alto, tenor, and soprano saxophones as well as hammered dulcimer, flute, pennywhistle, keyboard, and steel drums. Guy has a solo recording called "Dream Castle" and is featured on new recordings of David Moran, Madeline MacNeil, and Tull Glazener.
Tull has been sharing the music of the mountain dulcimer through performances and workshops across the country since 1986. He enjoys adapting all kinds of music to the mountain dulcimer, including aires and waltzes, rag-time, traditional and old-time, contemporary, classical and jazz. Tull has produced five recordings, is the author of two instruction books, and has been a featured columnist for Dulcimer Players News. He also plays hammered dulcimer, button accordion, and is a member of the Family Reunion Stringband based in central Indiana.
